TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN LODGE- a log cabin located the gates of King Mountain. Located on the Atlanta side of Highlands at an elevation of 4300 ft, the home has a fifteen mile view of Blue Valley and other mountain ranges. The hoe is all one one level with a split bedroom plan. When entering, you are greeted with a massive stone wall with the open kitchen on the left and the spacious dining area to the right.
The Master Bedroom is located off the left side of the living area and has a king bed, sleeper sofa, two twins and a small private bath (shower only), nice mountain view,and a TV. The living room is reminiscent of days gone by with beautiful exposed beams below the cathedral ceiling. There you find the large native stone fireplace (wood burning), plenty of seating with comfortable leather sofas, TV area (satellite TV/DVD), piano, and bar set up.
The front porch which has a stainless grill, and chairs has an access from the living area which also has steps to the yard. 2ndt BR (which could easily be used as a second Master suite) there is a Queen bed, TV, private bath, and a view. 3rd BR has a full bed, TV and a private bath. This home has been decorator furnished and has beautiful antiques, yet lends an easy mountain feeling. Other amenities of Top of the Mountain Lodge: very close to the Bartram Trail for hikers, the King Mountain Community offers swimming and tennis, and fishing from the stocked trout pond (limit of one fish per day per person or 4 per household).
